Nayak’s Hearing Care Clinic unveils new screening equipment

Painting; essay contests for children marks 20th anniversary celebrations

Dr.M.S.J. Nayak, Director, Nayak?s Hearing Care Clinic, was screening Prof. G. Venkatasubbaiah, well-known lexicographer, after unveiling the equipment on the occasion of their 20th anniversary celebrations at the J.S.S. Auditorium

Bangalore: Nayak’s Hearing Care Clinic Pvt. Ltd., pioneers of treatment for the hearing impaired in Bangalore, today announced the launch new screening equipment, which determines the hearing capability of any individual within 3 minutes. Launched on the occasion of the 20th anniversary celebrations of Nayak’s Hearing Care Clinic, the day was also marked by special events, including painting and essay contests for school children.

 “Any person with hearing disability or impairment can undergo the screening test by following the instructions. Within a few minutes, the equipment will determine the hearing capability of the person. Treatment can be taken up subsequently after analyzing the results,” said Dr.M.S.J. Nayak, Director, Nayak’s Hearing Care Clinic Pvt. Ltd, after unveiling the equipment at the J.S.S. Auditorium here.

 An essay competition on the role of grandparents was also held for students studying in 5th standard to 9th standard. More than 100 students took part in the essay contest. Awards were given away to the top three winners of each class (5th standard, 6th standard, 7th standard, 8th standard and 9th standard) on April 15. Consolation prizes were also given away to students of all the 5 classes. There were 37 contestants in the painting contest on the topic – Ear, Hearing & Soundscape – out of which top 3 received awards.

The top winners of the essay contest were:  Kusuma E.S. – 5th standard (J.S.S. Primary School); Meghna. P. Reddy – 6th standard (Mary Immaculate School); Harikesh. P – 7th standard (ASC Center); Nishath Anjum – 8th standard (Mary Immaculate School) and K. Shwetha Shenoy – 9th standard (Mary Immaculate School). The winners of the painting competition were: Lisa Jerry & Srinivas K.T.

Nayak’s Hearing Care Clinic was started in the year 1992 at Wilson Garden Bangalore. It was one of the first few private speech and hearing setups in Bangalore back then. “Today Nayak’s institute celebrates its anniversary on completing 20 years of service. The clinic has evolved into a fully equipped setup with advanced tools for proper diagnosis. Going forward, we plan to set up a specialized center for children with communication disorder; adopt a rural taluk to provide diagnostic and guidance services for people with communication disorders, and start a training institute of speech and hearing,” Nayak declared.

Prof. G. Venkatasubbaiah, well-known lexicographer, who was the chief guest on the occasion, lauded the efforts of Nayak’s Hearing Care Clinic in helping people overcome hearing impairment. “More such efforts are needed to serve the poor and needy from the deprived sections of society. Entrepreneurs should follow in the footsteps of Nayak,” he added.

Distinguished speakers, such as, Dr. M. Maiya, Physician & Cardiologist, Maiya Nursing Home; Dr. C.R. Chandrashekar, Professor, Department of Psychiatry, Nimhans; Dr. N. Shivashankar, Professor, Department of Speech Pathology & Audiology, Nimhans, and Dr. G. Purushothama, Director, Whisper Speech & Hearing Institute, addressed the gathering on the occasion.
